Oh, Halloween

2 11 2010

How was your Halloween?

I love seeing what everyone dressed up as and what people dressed their children as. I was a Pirate wench. My boyfriend, Chris, gave me the idea. Fortunately, I found a really cute costume. My bestfriend, Brooke, decided to be a witch. IT was a lot of fun to go out with all the other fellow Halloween obsessed people.

On a side note, Congradulations to the winner of Megan‘s first CAL (and mine, too).  Unfortunately I didn’t win, but I am impressed by the winner, Megan. She has an adorable bat with her pumpkin. But, have no fear…I’ve already started another CAL. I guess I’m turning into a crochet along machine. Over at Bernat, they’re having a mystery crochet along. I needed a stash buster and this just seemed perfect. That project, my first quilt(s) I’m making for Christmas gifts, other Holiday presents & projects, and job hunting has definitely given me a full plate! Oh and let’s not forget my website I’m working on. Links to come soon!!

Thanks for stopping by 🙂

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! (or whore-a-ween)

I just wanted to post to wish everyone an amazing holiday. Hope the treats are tasty and the tricks all in fun. Also, I want to share my first CAL or Crochet Along. As I am always interested in bettering my crochet skills, I decided to finally join a CAL. Over at Megan’s blog, Crochet Every Day, she hosted her first CAL, Pumpkins! It was such an adorable free pattern I had to join in. Recently, I became such a huge follow of Megan’s blog. She’s trying to complete every pattern she has posted, do check out her blog. Hopefully, you’ll join in a CAL of your own. I chose to do a pumpkin with a squash. Both turned out super cute.

Coming up this week: pictures of my costume/weekend. Hope you enjoyed yours!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Fall is AMAZING.

13 10 2010

A little fact about me, I love, love, love fall. Not only is it beautiful in Illinois, but there is Halloween. Halloween is probably one of my favorite holidays. Second favorite being Thanksgiving (I really love food). There are pumpkin carvings, scary movies, decorating, planning what gifts to make, corn mazes, hay rides, and Halloween parties. On top of all this amazingness — my birthday is right around the corner!

Yes, mark your calendars. November 19.

Anyway, what more perfect way to celebrate Fall than to post pictures. I’ll edit my fall photos and post them shortly. Of course there are the ghoulish decorations on my casa, the colorful forest preserves, friends in costume, and current crochet projects.

With everything going on, including school & work, I’ve decided to start  investigating what site to use for my portfolio. Art is a passion of mine. I hope to display what I’ve accomplished so far. Maybe this will result in some form of a fan base. We’ll see.

I will post photos up later this week. What are you up to this fall? Any great places to take pictures? What sites do you use to display your goodies?

In the beginning…

Currently – I am editing the look and feel of my blog. I will start posting my work, projects, interesting articles, tips, and any fun day-to-day experiences (since I’m turning into a pictureaholic — gotta love Nikon). Again, SORRY I haven’t posted anything. I will ASAP. Thank you for stopping by!
